Buses at Marseille Airport

Marseille Airport has very good bus links with various places in Provence and, via Nice, even as far away as Genoa.  Fares are generally very reasonable but, even so, you may be better off with a hire car, especially if there are three or more in your party.

Before you make your mind up have a look at Marseille Airport Car Hire for an instant, on-line quotation.

Buses stop outside Terminal 1 and the ride into Marseille railway station takes about 25 minutes and costs 8.50 euros.  The bus runs every 20 minutes between 5.10 a.m. and 10.50 p.m. which takes in all the likely arrivals at the airport.

After 10.50pm bus departures will continue to run in conjunction with flight arrivals.

You can also get a bus to Aix en Provence which takes 30 minutes and calls at both the bus station and the railway station in Aix.  The fare is 7.80 euros.

Up in the mountains is Digne and the buses to here go via Manosque, Malijal, and Mées to the bus station in Digne and then on to the railway station.  All this for 9 euros!

Salon de Provence is another town with a direct bus link.  The bus runs more or less hourly and calls at Rognac and Lançon de Provence.  This is line 17 and costs only 5.20 euros single.

Finally Vitrolles, Line 10, known as Le Bus de l’Etang.  This bus runs 16 times a day and only takes 10 minutes to reach Vitrolles. The last bus leaves at 10 to 8 in the evening.
